Abstract:

To provide an imaging process which need not use a special chemical such as an alkaline developing solution and easily removes an unexposed part and superbly reproduces an image in the exposed part.

This process uses an imaging material constituted of a hydrophilic undercoat layer(B) formed on a roughened or porous support(A) and further, a photosensitive layer(C) composed of a photopolymerizable composition applied to the surface of the undercoat layer(B). In addition, after applying the hydrophilic undercoat layer(B) to the surface of the support(A), the undercoat layer(B) is made insoluble in water and/or an organic solvent and an image is formed by removing the unexposed part on a printing machine after exposing the photosensitive layer(C) of the imaging material in an image fashion.
