Abstract:
To increase a stroke in a plateau region when an impact load is applied while securing support rigidity of an impact energy absorber.
The impact energy absorber 1 includes a metal bulk body 2, a metal tubular body 3, and an easily-collapsible material 4. In the metal bulk body 2, a plurality of voids is resident. The metal tubular body 3 has an inner circumferential surface separately opposed to the outer circumferential surface of the metal bulk body 2 and covers the outer circumferential surface of the metal bulk body 2. The easily-collapsible material 4 is filled between the outer circumferential surface of the metal bulk body 2 and the inner circumferential surface of the metal tubular body 3.
