Abstract:
An improved fabric dryer 10 having a cabinet 12 with a closable door 26, a stationary microwave impermeable container 40 within the cabinet having an opening 46 contiguous to and in alignment with the cabinet opening 24 and having air inlets 72 and an air outlet opening 14, a megnetron 58 for generating electromagnetic energy and a wave guide 62 for directing the energy into the container 40, an air and microwave permeable basket 30 removably positionable within the container through the opening therein, the basket 30 having a latchable door 34 and being adaptable to receive fabric therein to be dried, rollers 48 within the container 40 for rotating the basket 30 to tumble fabric therein and a fan 78 for drawing air out the container air outlet 74. The removable basket 30 facilitates placing fabric into and out of the dryer 10.
