Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for audio encoding and/or decoding using a time-frequency correlation and a device therefor.
SOLUTION: Disclosed is a digital audio encoding method of generating a time-frequency band table on the basis of an input audio signal, searching the block closest to a block which is currently encoded according to the generated time-frequency band table to generate information regarding the closest block which is searched for, and generating a bit stream including the generated information regarding the closest block. As compared with an existent audio codec, a transmission bit rate is decreased without any deterioration of sound quality and the sound quality is improved without any increase in transmission bit rate.
