Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an incombustible gas mixture capable of being compressed into a container suitable for a delivery of a gas composition containing an easily inflammable sterilizing gas or a fumigating gas, and to provide a container containing the above compressed gas composition and a method for supplying the composition.
SOLUTION: This incombustible gas mixture is obtained by containing an incombustible amount of an easily flammable bactericidal gas or a fumigating gas, and nitrogen gas or carbon dioxide gas, and compressing the gases into a container suitable for discharging the gas composition. As the bactericidal or fumigating gas, e.g. phosphine (PH3), carbonylsulfide (COS) methylbromide (CH3BR) or ethylene oxide (CH4O) are cited. As the content of each reagent, it is preferable to contain ≤2.5% phosphine, 45-65vol.% carbon dioxide and 35-55vol.% nitrogen in the discharged gas. It is also preferable for a cylinder filled with the gas composition by compressing them to be equipped with an eductor tube.
