Abstract:
To provide an indexing method for shaft shape workpiece, which can meet the purpose easily even if the phase of machining position differs depending on the kind of workpiece.
Both sides of a cam shaft 87 are supported rotatably with main clamps 54 and 55 respectively, and an end of supported workpiece is held with a workpiece rotating means and then rotated. A phase reference section 86 is made contact with a phase reference detecting means 57 and the workpiece rotating means is turned reversely as shown with an error mark (3) from the contact position Xc by amount of an angle θ which is preset in advance every workpiece according to a signal of the reference detecting means, in order to index the shaft shape workpiece.
