To provide an induction motor system capable of supplying a voltage controlled using VVVF control to an induction motor when the induction motor is started.
An induction motor system 1 comprises: first switches 61 and 62; a power storage system 3; a second switch 8; a bypass line 6; third switches 71 and 72; an output voltage detection unit 10b (output voltage detector) which detects an output voltage from the power storage system 3; a grid voltage detection unit 10c (grid voltage detector); and a start control unit 10a (start control device) configured to perform start control. Start control comprises the steps of: (a) keeping the first and second switches open, closing the third switches, and increasing the output voltage; and (b) closing the first switches when the output voltage to be detected equals the grid voltage to be detected after the step (a).
