Abstract:
To provide a flexible heat sink and/or cooling means to reduce the temperature in a weld interface, for use in induction welding of thermoplastic composites.SOLUTION: A heat sink for use in induction welding includes a number of tiles 40, where the tiles are electrically non-conductive and have a thermal diffusivity greater than about 25 mm2/sec.
