PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of picking works of articles, especially to perform picking works efficiently in the case of load handling of small-lot multi- sort production type articles.

CONSTITUTION: A picking system is composed in such a manner that articles are picked up from delivery racks 1 and carried out to a carrying-out device 4 by pickers 10, while the articles M are supplied to the delivery racks 1 by a feeder 3 and that shelves for mounting articles in the delivery racks 1 travel in circulation so that a necessary shelf is allowed to locate selectively at a front putout port of a rear supply port, so as to perform picking or supply of articles.
