To provide a developing method for inflatable structure foldable in a compact form and predictable in the expanded and developed shape, a method of folding and developing a compactly foldable and expansible structure, and the foldable and developable structure.
A cylindrical membrane member is formed so that the lines intersecting a plurality of faces orthogonal to a cylinder axis respectively become trough lines, and folded beforehand so that each trough line forms a regular N-angular form (N is an integer of 3 or more) and that the regular N-angular forms formed by axially adjacent trough lines are shifted by (180÷N)° around the cylinder axis. A filler is filled inside the folded membrane member to form the membrane member in cylindrical shape.
