Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform an efficient encoding by making the shape of a forward conversion window function at the time of a forward spectrum conversion processing and the shape of an inverse conversion window function different.
CONSTITUTION: An audio signal is inputted in an input terminal 100 and a band division is performed for the signal in a band division circuit 101 having the function of a forward spectrum conversion. The spectrum signal for which the band division is performed is decomposed into a normalizing coefficient and a signal to be normalized by the normalizing circuits 111 to 114 corresponding to each band for every certain time block. Each signal to be normalized is converted into signal to be normalized/ quantized by quantizing circuits 121 to 124 based on the quantizing accuracy information of a quantization deciding circuit 141. Each signal to be normalized/quantized, and each normalizing coefficient from the normalizing circuits 111 to 114 and each quantization accuracy information from the deciding circuit 141 successively become code strings by a multiplexor 131 and are outputted from a terminal 103. These outputted code strings are recorded in an optical disk, etc., and are transmitted by radio waves, etc.
