PURPOSE: To increase the retrieving speed by rearranging the order of accesses for each storage medium against presence of plural image requests.

CONSTITUTION: A user sends his image request information to a control means 6 from an operating part of a terminal equipment 52. Thus the means 6 merges the received image request information into the map of a RAM 2 and produces a map to show a retrieving order. Under such a condition even if the later request is addressed to the same storage medium is registered with preference since a storage medium 1i is mounted on a reproducing part 12. When the 10th reproducing operation ends with the medium 1i, the means 6 erases the head registration of the map and switches a connection switching means 3 to the terminal equipment 52 according to the registration of the next map. Then the means 6 reproduces the 20th image of the medium 1i and writes it into a frame memory 42. As a result, the user's desired image is displayed on the equipment 52. Thereafter the desired images are shown according to the registration of maps.
