Abstract:
To prevent creation of a virtual printer having a connection destination of a virtual printer, and properly create a virtual printer according to a request from a user even under an environment where virtual printers exist on a network.SOLUTION: A virtual printer service 211 acquires responses to a device search request from actual printers (103, 104) and virtual printers (311, 312) (S1201-S1202); determines whether each of devices which have made the response to the device search request is a virtual printer, on the basis of the acquired responses (S1208); presents to a user, information of devices excluding devices determined to be the virtual printer among the devices that have made the response (S1208-S1212); and generates, on the basis of information of one device selected by the user, out of the presented information of the devices, a virtual device that transmits a print job to the one device (S605-S606 in Fig. 7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
