PURPOSE: To execute jumping retrieval just by setting the jumping interval of a picture frame once by providing an input means for setting the interval for jumping one frame and executing retrieval and a control means for executing the control of restarting the retrieval at the jumping interval.
CONSTITUTION: The input means 21 for setting the interval for jumping at least one frame of the picture frames of an information recording medium (microfilm) F so as to execute the retrieval and the control means 20 for resetting the number of jumping frames with a mark m1 in a high rank level from plural level marks m1 and m3 put on the microfilm F at the time of retrieving and executing the control of restarting the retrieval from the mark m1 in the high rank level at the jumping interval set by the input means 21 are provided in a titled device. Since the number of jumping frames of the picture frames is reset and the retrieval is made to be restarted to the set jumping interval, thus, the jumping retrieval can be executed with the high rank mark as a reference just by setting the jumping interval once.
