Abstract:

To provide an information terminal which extracts characteristics of routes and provides a user with an appropriate amount of information.

An information terminal searches for a plurality of routes (step S10), and estimates energy consumption in traveling along the respective obtained routes for each of a plurality of factors (basic fuel consumption, air resistance, friction resistance, difference of elevation, and acceleration and deceleration, for example) (step S20). Then, the information terminal extracts a factor(s) that characterizes each of the plurality of routes from the plurality of factors by using the estimated energy consumption for each factor (step S40). Also, the information terminal generates information according to the extracted factor(s) for at least one route among a plurality of routes selected by a user, and provides the user with the generated information (step S50).
