To eliminate use of any reference gas, establish the convenience to carry around, and suppress the costs for and simplify the operation of the measurement.
A gas analyzer of single beam type is equipped with a lead-in valve 46 mounted on a lead-in pipe 44 to introduce the gas to be measured, a pressure sensor 430 measured up to the vacuum range mounted at a gas cell 4, and a vacuum pump 49 mounted on a gas exhaust pipe 45. The reference output is measured by closing the lead-in valve 46 and evacuating the gas cell 4 by the pump 49 so that decompression is made to under the specified level, while the measuring output is measured upon opening the lead-in valve 46 and introducing the gas into the gas cell 4 to establish approx. the atmospheric pressure condition. The measurement of the reference output in such a decompressed state, dispenses with the need for any reference gas.
