Abstract:
To provide a new inhibitor against the production of a matrix metalloprotease, capable of safely and effectively acting on the affected part with a small amount to remedy cancer.
This inhibitor against the production of a matrix metalloprotease contains a chromanol glycoside represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each the same or different hydrogen, lower alkyl group or lower acyl group; R5 is hydrogen, a lower alkyl group or a lower acyl group; X is a monosaccharide residue or oligosaccharide in which the hydroxy group in the sugar residue can be substituted with a lower alkyl group or a lower acyl group; (n) is an integer of 0-6; and (m) is an integer of 1-6) as an active ingredient.
