PURPOSE: To enhance a stability in ink drop jetting by providing a drive circuit for transmitting a drive pulse signal for every drive block, i.e., a set of adjacent two heating elements, and preventing the simultaneous application of drive pulse signals to adjacent two drive blocks.
CONSTITUTION: In an ink jet recorder, heating resistors 3 are electrically conducted and heated through a drive control means 4 in accordance with image information, ink 2 is vaporized to generate a pressure, and by this pressure the ink 2 is delivered as ink drops from nozzles 1 formed on a channel wafer 9. In this invention, the drive control means 4 consists of a drive circuit for transmitting drive pulse signals to 96 drive blocks 5, each of which is composed of adjacent two heating resistors 3 corresponding to two bits, and a timing regulating means 7 which is a 96-bit shift register successively selecting the drive blocks 5. Drive pulse signals are controlled so as not to be simultaneously applied to two drive blocks adjacent to each other.
