To achieve improvement of using efficiency of ink in an ink tank and a reduction in waste on operations of a recording device while reducing a difference between an ink remaining amount recognized by the recording device and an actual ink remaining amount in the ink tank even when errors due to an ink injection amount occur.
Information regarding the ink injection amount measured when manufacturing the ink tank H1900 is stored in a storage part 110 provided to a using ink tank. A usable ink amount being an ink amount dischargeable from a recording head in the ink injection amount is calculated on the basis of information read out from the storage part 110 when using the ink tank. It is discriminated whether or not a measured ink amount reaches the usable ink amount by measuring an ink amount discharged from the recording head. Stop of recording operation or report or the like of an ink exhaustion state is executed corresponding to the discrimination results.
