To provide an ink set which gives printed images having a good light-resistance and satisfies color reproducibility, clogging resistance, and other properties and to provide a recording method using it.

This ink set is a combination of a magenta ink containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a dye having a structure of formula [I], a dye having a structure of formula [II] and/or C.I. Acid Violet 9, 30, C.I. Acid RED 50, 52, 289, a yellow ink containing C.I. Direct Yellow 86 and C.I. Direct Yellow 132. or C.I. Direct Yellow 86 and C.I. Direct Yellow 173, and a cyan ink containing C.I. Direct Blue 86 or C.I. Direct Blue 199.
