Abstract:
To cause a medium to retreat to a correction region and correct an attitude of the medium when ink discharge is interrupted.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer, when ink discharge is interrupted by an ink jet head, positions a retreat object portion of a medium in a correction region being a region different from a scanning region where the ink jet head scans in a conveyance path and correcting an attitude of the medium. When the ink discharge interrupted is a first mode, the retreat object portion is a portion positioned in the scanning region when the ink discharge is interrupted. When the ink discharge interrupted is a second mode having a discharging amount of ink per a predetermined area smaller than that of the first mode, the retreat object portion includes a portion positioned in the scanning region when the ink discharge is interrupted and a portion positioned closer to an upstream side than the scanning region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
