To provide inkjet recording paper which has high ink absorbability, gloss, and print density, which is excellent in cracking resistance as a result of forming a flexible ink absorbing layer, further, which can enhance bleeding resistance while maintaining the high ink absorbability even if a cationic fixing agent is added.

The ink absorbing layer includes wet type fine silica particles, of which the average particle size of primary particles is ≤ 10 nm and that of secondary particles is 10-300 nm, and a hydrophilic binder in the inkjet recording paper. And, the mass ratio (F/B) of the wet type fine silica particles (F) to the hydrophilic binder (B) is set to 5.5-12. The pH of the film surface of the ink absorbing layer is set to 3.0-6.0.
