A main exhaust dust 28 is equipped with a selector damper 41 for a single wind box or a plurality of wind boxes located at the downstream end thereof, a first duct 30 is equipped with selector dampers 42 and 43 for a single wind box or a plurality of wind boxes 13 and 19 located at the upstream end and at the downstream end thereof, and a second duct 33 is equipped with a damper 44 for a single wind box or a plurality of wind boxes 20 located at the upstream end thereof. The main exhaust dust 28 is linked to the first dust 30 by a link pipe 45 through a selector damper 46, and the first duct 30 is linked to the second duct 33 by a link pipe 47 through a selector damper 48. The selector dampers are switched in accordance with a deviation of an exhaust gas temperature distribution from a reference temperature distribution, as caused by changes in the operating conditions to shift the range of the wind boxes of the exhaust gas to be introduced into respective waste heat boilers 32 and 35 in accordance with the deviation of the exhaust gas temperature distribution from the reference temperature, thereby preventing temperature changes of the exhaust gas at inlets of the waste heat boilers.
