PURPOSE: To obtain an insect pest controlling material capable of making a chemical act on inset pests in the whole target controlling zones and sufficiently exposing insect pests to the chemical.
CONSTITUTION: This insect pest controlling material is obtained by adding a chemical which is applied to an insect pest living place with a water content, does not show harmful action on mammals and has controlling effects on insect pests to chemical-containing paper having ≤0.10kgf wet tensile strength in the lateral direction when immersed in 100mm span in water for 1 minute. A young hormone activating compound for suppressing pupation and emergence, a chitin synthesis inhibitor for suppressing ecdysis or a compound for suppressing metabolism and biosynthesis characteristic to insects may be cited as the chemical. The rectangular insect pest controlling material 1 is laid under the base 4a of a nutrient (e.g. poultry manure) 4 of insect pests piled in a mountain state or put on the base 4a to control insect pests. In the case of treating it into poultry manure to be fertilized, complete fertilizer is obtained without delaying fertilization of the poultry manure.
