To obtain an insecticide and a miticide which exert improved fast- acting properties and residual activities on insect pests or ticks and is capable of effectively controlling insect pests or ticks in a low dosage by including bifenazate and etoxazole.

This insecticide and miticide are obtained by including (A) bifenazate and (B) etoxazole. On the above formulation, the component B is preferably included in a proportion of 0.05-1.5 pts.wt. based on the component A 1 pt.wt. When the above formulation is used, the components A and B can be applied individually or as a mixture. When individually applied, it may be applied at the same time or individually in a short time and when applied as the mixture, the mixing may be carried out by tank mixing (mixing when applied) or ready mixing (mixing when formulated). The above formulation is applicable to agricultural insect pests, livestock insect pests, sanitarily harmful insect pests giving adverse effects on human living environments, e.g. houses or the like, and ticks (e.g. red spider mite and the like) or nematodes.
