Abstract:

To effectively carry out the extermination of house ticks inhabiting tatami mats in the house, carpets, wall clothes, bedclothes, clothes or the like by the use of a component harmless to men and beasts.

This house tick repellent is composed of pine resin or a mixture of pine resin and a spreader. The pine resin powder exerts strong tick repellent and insecticidal effects, inhibits the invasion of ticks from tick culture medium 4 shown in the figure to trap culture medium 5 in the proportion of about 90% within 24 hours and kills 39% of invaded ticks. On the spreader, a powder obtained by mixing one or more selected from calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, titanium oxide, zinc white or diatomaceous earth with a pine resin powder is used as a mixed powder or as a water-dispersed solution in combination with a surfactant or a thickener.
