To provide an instantaneous water heater quickly storing hot water in a hot water storage tank without making electric control.
In an initial state, hot water in the hot water storage tank has a near-cold water state. When a user presses a hot water supply switch or a reheating switch of a water heater 200 to have a bath, hot water supply to a bathtub or reheating of hot water is started. A temperature detecting means detects reheating or hot water supply, and drain valves 109A, 109B, 109C, ... are opened. Hot water supply to the instantaneous water heater is started from the water heater, a low-cut valve detects the water from the hot water storage tank, water-side direction valves 106A, 106B, 106C, ... are opened, and the water in the hot water storage tank is discharged to the bathtub. The water discharged into the bathtub can be effectively utilized without being disposed of, and without lowering a temperature of the hot water in the bathtub as a volume of the tank is only about 2% of a volume of the bathtub. When water inside of the hot water storage tank gets hot, the low-cut valve detects the hot water, a hot water-side direction valve is opened, and the hot water can be immediately supplied from a water faucet.
