Abstract:
PURPOSE: To arrange a floor plate horizontally by measuring a level of a floor joist in an underfloor structure of a wooden building.
CONSTITUTION: The instrument consists of a pair of string stretchers 7 and 9 and a ruler 12. In each of the string stretchers 7 and 9, a projecting part 3 is fixed at one end of a plate body 1 with a leveling string 2 wound around it. Sharp ends 4a of nailes projecting from the projecting part 3. Nail holes 1b are formed at the other end of the plate body 1. The leveling string is inserted through a through window 12a of a rectangular frame of the ruler 12. The string stretchers can be easily and surely set to a floor joist, and easily separated with a slight force. When the sharp ends of nails are inserted in the nail holes and tied with a rubber band 8, the instrument can be carried with safely in a compact state.
