Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the abrasion amount of the resin guide of a movable handrail efficiently measurable without removing the handrail.
SOLUTION: An instrument for measuring abrasion loss of resin guide of movable handrail is composed of a first measuring member 8 which can be brought into contact with the lower surface of a supporting member 3, a second measuring member 9 which is faced oppositely to the member 9 and is brought into contact with the surface of a movable handrail 1, and a displaying section 10 which displays the distance between the members 8 and 9. The thickness of the handrail 1 is measured by respectively bringing the members 8 and 9 into contact with the internal and external surfaces of the handrail 1 on the return side of the handrail 1 and the total thickness of the handrail 1, supporting member 3, and the resin guide 4 of the handrail 1 in an overlapping state is measured by respectively bringing the members 8 and 9 into contact with the lower surface of the member 3 and external surface of the handrail 1 on the upper surface side which is used by passengers. The abrasion amount of the guide 4 is calculated from the differences between the measured total thickness of the handrail 1, member 3, and guide 4 and measured thickness of the handrail 1 and the sum of the measured thickness of the handrail 1, the thickness of the member 3 decided at the manufacturing time, and the thickness of the guide 4 in an unused state and the measured thickness of the handrail 1.
