Title:
INTAKE AIR DEVICE FOR ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3724045
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve burning efficiency so as to reduce fuel costs and improve outputs, emission or the like by strengthening a tumbler With a relatively simple structure.
SOLUTION: Intake ports 8 and 9 opened/closed by intake valves 12 and 13 are opened in a combustion chamber, and a mask 26 for regulating the distribution of intake air introduced to the combustion chamber is provided in the periphery of this intake port opening section and in the peripheral edge side of a cylinder bore. The height H of this mask is set smaller than the maximum lifting amount Lmax of the intake valve, the intake valves 12 and 13 are opened after top dead points at least in a running zone from an engine low load to a middle load, and an intake valve lifting characteristic, a mask height H or the like is set such that a piston speed reaches a near maximum level, that is, in the vicinity of 90° after the top dead point before the lifting amounts of the intake valves 12 and 13 exceed the mask height H.
