PURPOSE: To prevent production of liquid fuel flowing along a wall surface and to promote atomization of fuel by a method wherein a partition plate by which an intake air pipe is separated into two layers is provided on the upper stream of each of Y-branch parts between a main passage and branch passages in a tournament type intake air pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A tournament type intake air pipe 1 is connected to s cylinder 31 through 8 suction valve 14 located to an outlet 8 of the intake air pipe. A partition plate 21 by which the intake air pipe 1 is separated into two layers is secured on the upper stream of each of Y-branch parts between a main passage 3 and branch passages 4-7 in the intake air pipe by means of a holding column 22. Adhesion of liquiddrop fuel to the inner wall of the Y-branch part and the flow thereof along the inner wall of the air intake pipe are prevented from occurring. Further, since liquid fuel can be blown off in a foggy state by means of an air flow on the downstream of the partition plate, atomization of fuel can be promoted.
