Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for a multicylinder internal combustion engine with a resonance chamber, capable of being easily manufactured, easily securing the sealing performance, and expecting high resonance effect.
SOLUTION: A partition member provided with a communication pipe is placed on a lower casing, an upper casing having branch intake pipes of cylinders at its upper end face part is placed on the partitioning member, and edge parts of the lower casing, the partitioning member and the upper casing are overlapped and welded by vibratory welding to be integrally connected and sealed on an approximately same plane to define the resonance chamber between the lower casing and the partitioning member. A surge tank is defined between the partitioning member and the upper casing, whereby the number of components can be remarkably reduced in comparison with a case when the surge tank is independently mounted. As three members can be easily molded without generating undercut, the easiness in manufacturing can be improved. Further by sealing three members on the same plane, the sealing can be easily controlled.
