PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake passage structure for an internal combustion engine that enables heat insulation of intake air by using an insertion portion of an intake manifold to a cylinder head and improvement of installation performance of the insertion portion of the intake manifold to the cylinder head having a plurality of cylinders.SOLUTION: An intake passage structure for an internal combustion engine includes: an intake manifold 5; connection portions 7 each formed separately from the intake manifold 5, provided between the intake manifold 5 and a cylinder head 1 and comprising a material having lower thermal conductivity than that of the cylinder head 1; insertion portions 9 each formed at an end on the intake downstream side of the connection portion 7; fitting recessed portions 13 into which the insertion portions 9 are inserted and that are communicated with an intake port 11 of the cylinder head 1; and a continuous flange portion 17 that extends to interconnect ends on the intake upstream sides of the plurality of connection portions 7 and to which intake manifold flange portions 15 at ends on the downstream sides of a plurality of intake passages of the intake manifold 5 are fastened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
