Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intermediate for a proline derivative useful for production of an ACE inhibitor.
SOLUTION: This intermediate is shown by formula I [R is H, t-butyl or the like; R1 and R5 are each H, methyl, ethyl or the like; pairs of R1 and R2, R2 and R3, and R4 and R5 form a 4- to 10-membered cyclic hydrocarbon together with 2 carbon atoms (e.g. cyclopentane and cyclohexane); and R6 and R7 are each a 1-4C alkyl, 7-9C aralkyl or the like], e.g. L8a-morpholino-1-oxa-2-aza-1,4,4 a,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalene-3-carboxylate. This compound is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula II with a compound shown by formula III (X is Cl or Br).
