Abstract:

To provide an intermediate transfer type thermal transfer printing device which prevents an easy attachment/detachment of a ribbon cartridge from occurring.

This intermediate transfer type thermal transfer printing device is equipped with a film cartridge 13 which is freely attachable to/detachable from a device main body 41 to make the replacement of a film F possible, and the ribbon cartridge 14 which is freely attachable to/detachable from the device main body 41 to make the replacement of an ink ribbon R possible. As personal information remains under a decolored state on the ink ribbon R, the easy attachment/detachment of the ribbon cartridge 14 is not preferable from the viewpoint of security. Therefore, by providing a locking mechanism 70, the easy attachment/detachment of the ribbon cartridge 14 can be prevented from occurring.
