Abstract:

To solve the problem that the drivability degrades because of repetition of torque drops and rises when an accelerator pedal is returned and stamped in when an idle switch is put on during running with the accelerator pedal stamped in slightly and the ignition timing delay is adjusted before a fuel cut is to be executed.

An operation control device of an internal combustion engine is equipped with a first retard angle control means to retard gradually the ignition timing with a prescribed retard amount before stopping the fuel supply when an idle signal is output from the idle switch and an actuation amount signal to show that an acceleration operating element is not operated, is output by an acceleration actuating amount sensor; and a second retard angle control means to retard the ignition timing gradually with a certain retard amount smaller than the prescribed retard amount by the first retard angle means before stopping the fuel supply when the idle signal is output from the idle switch and the actuation amount signal to show that the acceleration operating element is being operated, is output by the acceleration actuating amount sensor.
