Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine which can maintain sealability and make a timing cover less likely to be damaged.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes: an engine body 15 having a timing member (a timing chain 15a) which transmits power from a crank shaft 14a; a mount bracket 3 and engine support members (spacer parts 6, 600) for fixing the engine body 15 to a vehicle body; and fastening tools 5, each of which penetrates through the engine support member and is fastened to the engine body 15. Further, the internal combustion engine 1 includes: a cover member (a timing chain cover 2) covering the timing member and having openings (a first opening 24, a second opening 25, and a third opening 26) into which engine side fastening parts of the engine support members are inserted; and seal members 7, each of which is disposed between an inner peripheral surface of the opening and an outer peripheral surface of the engine support member and is formed by an elastic member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
