Abstract:
To realize an internal combustion engine that keeps the functionality of premixed compression ignition, and reduces side effects caused by it.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises a plurality of cylinders 11, 12, 13, and is configured to burn air-fuel mixture by premixed compression ignition only in the cylinder 11 of the cylinders and burn the air-fuel mixture by spark ignition in the remaining cylinders 12, 13 at the same time. More preferably, a total amount or substantially the total amount of gas discharged from the cylinder 11 for premixed compression ignition combustion is refluxed toward the cylinders 12, 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
