Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine which is improved so as to suppress the generation of a heat spot at a cylinder head.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: a cylinder head in which a plug attachment hole and an injector attachment hole are formed; an ignition plug which is inserted into the plug attachment hole, and whose plug tip is exposed to a ceiling face of a combustion chamber; and a direct injection injector which is inserted into the injector attachment hole, and whose nozzle tip is exposed to the ceiling face of the combustion chamber. An exhaust port side external peripheral face, a plug peripheral edge face, an injector peripheral edge face and an intake port side external peripheral face are connected to one another so as to constitute smooth recessed faces so that the plug peripheral edge face and the tip of the ignition plug are not protruded from a virtual plane for connecting a boundary line connected with the exhaust port side external peripheral face and the plug peripheral edge face, and an opening center point of the nozzle tip of the direct injection injector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
