PURPOSE: To increase efficiency simultaneously with reduction of the occurrence of environmental pollution by providing a separating means to separate air in a combustion chamber into air allotted to combustion of fuel and air worked as an air spring and accumulating a part of energy during combustion at an air spring part once.
CONSTITUTION: A plate 21 having pores 20 is arranged at the top of a piston 12 and the interior of a cylinder 11 is divided into a combustion part 17 and an air spring part 18. When the piston 12 is raised, air in the cylinder 11 is compressed, and fuel is injected in the cylinder 11 through a fuel nozzle 1. Along with the starting of combustion, a pressure in the combustion part 17 is rapidly increased, a part of air in the combustion part 17 flows in the pores 20 of the plate 21 and a part of energy of combustion is accumulated at the air spring part 18. The energy is used as drive energy for the piston 12 at an expansion stroke. This constitution decreases concentration of nitrogen oxide through reduction of a combustion temperature without reducing efficiency.
