To provide a grasping device having an internal shaft for eliminating an object from a patient's vascular system.
This intracorporeal grasping device includes a tubular member 12 for entering a human body lumen. An elongate core member 14 rotating or sliding inside the tubular member 12 is disposed in the internal cavity of the tubular member 12. The elongate core member 14 has a proximal end 27 and a distal end 29. The elongate core member 14 includes a tube with a uniform diameter having flexibility at the proximal end 27 and increased in flexibility along a longitudinal axis toward the distal end 29. A grasping mechanism 11 is arranged to catch the object therein, and a grasping member may have a proximal end fixed to the distal end 29 of the elongate core member 14. The grasping mechanism 11 has an extended state and an extended/contracted state, and a distal section is formed to grasp the object. The grasping mechanism 11 may be formed of at least one movable jaw mounted to the distal end of the elongate core member 14, and a length portion of the distal end of the tube member.
