Abstract:
To provide nasal testosterone bio-adhesive gel formulations for providing sustained intranasal delivery of testosterone to testosterone deficient males to treat male subjects diagnosed with hypogonadism, and testosterone replacement treatment methods using the nasal testosterone bio-adhesive gel formulations.SOLUTION: A testosterone gel formulation for nasal administration comprises: a. testosterone in an amount of about 4.0 wt.% of the gel formulation; and b. a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle. The gel formulation comprises a solvent, a wetting agent, and a thickener. The solvent is castor oil. The wetting agent is an oleoyl polyoxylglyceride.
