Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion carburizing furnace by which ion carburizing can be uniformly applied to the surface of a work.
SOLUTION: The inside of a chamber 3 constituted in such a manner that evacuation is made possible is provided with an insulating space 10 formed by an insulating material 4 so as to store a basket 15 holding the work, the ceiling of the insulating space 10 is provided with a gas introducing port 6 introducing treating gas, and the bottom face is provided with gas exhausting ports 71 to 74 exhausting treating gas. A vacuum exhausting port 8 provided in the chamber 3 is placed at the center of each gas exhausting port 71 to 74, treating gas is exhausted homogeneously from each exhausting port 71 to 74, and the gaseous flow of treating gas is uniformized. It is more effective that the upper direction of the basket 15 holding the work is horizontally provided with a pipe 5 for scattering treating gas and it is provided with plural pores to form into gas introducing ports 6.
