To improve the directionality of a shot ball by a long iron group by a method wherein the gravity center distances of the head main bodies of the long iron group and a short iron group are respectively set within specified dimensions, and at the same time, the gravity center distance for the long iron group is set to be smaller than the gravity center distance for the short iron group.
The hosel part 7 of a five iron of an iron club set is displaced to the toe side of a head main body 3 compared with the hosel part 9 of a head main body 5, and thus, a gravity center distance X of the head main body 3 is set to be shorter than a gravity center distance Y of the head main body 5. Then, when a three iron through the five iron are considered as a long iron group which shoots a ball strongly, the hosel parts of the three iron and the four iron are displaced to the toe sides of the head main bodies in the same manner. In the meantime, when iron clubs of six and higher are considered as a short iron group wherein an importance is placed on the control, respective hosel parts are provided at approx. the same location as the hosel part 9, and the gravity center distance is set at approx. the same dimension as conventional clubs.
