The IgE antibody production inhibitor comprises an isatin derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein, R1 to R4 denote each hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted aryl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted heteroaryl group, or the like, a mono- or a di-lower alkylaminocarbonyl group, or the like, a halogen atom, hydroxy group, an acyloxy group, a lower alkoxy group, a substituted or an unsubstituted aryloxy group, or the like, a lower alkylthio group, a substituted or an unsubstituted arylthio group, a lower alkylsulfinyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted arylsulfinyl group, a lower alkylsulfonyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted arylsulfonyl group, a mono or a disubstituted amino group or a cyclic amino group, or the like) or an addition salt thereof as an active ingredient.
