Abstract:
To provide an isoprene synthase having superior isoprene synthetic activity, and a method for producing isoprene using the same.SOLUTION: An isoprene synthase is an enzyme that synthesizes isoprene with dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP) as a substrate. In the loop configuration linking the 10th and 11th α-helices from the N-terminus in the wild-type amino acid sequence, the alanine nearest to the 11th α-helix from the N-terminus has been replaced with asparagine or aspartic acid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
