Title:
ISOTOPE SEPARATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3263189
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an isotope separation device which can stably produce a finished product of specified density.
CONSTITUTION: This isotope separation device is composed of a vacuum container 1, a crucible for evaporation 3 which stores a raw metal material 2 containing various isotopes arranged in the vacuum container 1, a thermal source which generates the vapor stream (s) of the raw metal material 2, a finished product recovery electrode 6 consisting of an anode 7 and a cathode 8 arranged alternately parallel with the direction of the generated vapor stream (s), and a laser beam 10 which selectively ionizes positively a specific isotope in a vapor stream (s) flowing into a space between the finished product recovery electrodes 6. In addition, in the isotope separation device which separates/ recovers a specific isotope which is positively ionized by deflection into an anodic direction by applying voltage to an area between the finished product recovery electrodes, a means for adjusting the inflow area of the vapor stream (s) flowing into an area between the finished product recovery electrodes 6 is formed in the vapor stream between the crucible 3 for evaporation and the electrode 6 for finished product recovery.
