To provide an item packaging machine capable of efficiently packaging items into beltlike film.
The item packaging machine is used to place and package each item S from a slit 1d using the film 1 designed such that both widthwise sides of a beltlike film 1 longitudinally extending and composed of a rear film 1b and a front film 1a are sealed in advance, thereby storage spaces are defined between both the films 1a and 1b and the widthwise slits 1d are formed at predetermined intervals in the front film along the length of the film 1. The item packaging machine includes a film conveying mechanism that conveys the film 1 in the direction of its length, a biting mechanism 40 that bites the film 1 at both widthwise sides of the film 1, places each item via the slit 1d opened and closed while the beltlike film 1 is bitten, a sealing mechanism 50 that seals the area of the slit 1d after the item S is thus placed, and a cutting wire 504 that cuts the sealed area.
