To provide a joint device being particularly utilized as the joint device proper to a rotary penetration construction method for a steel pipe pile, having a sufficient joint strength, facilitating the mutual joining works of structural members, preventing the increase of a penetration resistance in the case of a rotary penetration, being capable of transmitting a reverse revolving torque in the case of a pull-out and being economical regarding the joint device for the structural member such as a pile, a column, a beam or the like for a structure.
The joint device A is composed of a joint-device upper section 10a joined at the lower end of the upper structural member, a joint-device lower section 20a joined at the upper end of the lower structural member and a wedge 30 having a taper having a cross section reducing in the insertion direction. In the joint device A, the joint-device upper section has an engaging section projected to a lower section from the base section of the upper section, and the joint-device lower section has the engaging section projected to an upper section from the base section of the joint-device lower section. In the joint device A, one ends of these engaging sections are engaged mutually on an unequal vertical surface while the other ends form a space, into which the wedge can be inserted, and the upper structural member 10b and the lower structural member 20b are joined by inserting the wedge into the space.
