Title:
JUDGMENT METHOD FOR DEGRADATION OF BATTERY IN SERVICE-INTERRUPTION BACKUP POWER SUPPLY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3314804
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a judgment method in which the capacitance test of only a specific secondary-battery row is prevented by a method wherein a secondary-battery cell row to which a service capacity test is to be executed first after a service interruption is selected at random from a set battery.
SOLUTION: Switches SW1 to SWn are set to the side of a charging circuit C, and a set battery B1 is charged fully via resistances R1 to Rn. Then, one out of secondary battery-cell rows A1 to An, e.g. the cell row A2, is selected at random by a test control circuit H, and a service capacity is tested. That is to say, only the switch SW2 is changed over to the side of a service-capacity measuring circuit J from the side of the charging circuit C, and the holding capacity of the cell row A2 is measured. After its finish, the switch SW2 is changed over to the side of the charging circuit C, and the cell row A2 is recharged. After its charging operation has been completed, the next cell row A3 is charged, measured and recharged in established order, and respective power capacities of all the cell rows A1 to An at the set battery B1 are measured finally. In this manner, immediately after a service interruption, the secondary-battery cell row is selected at random as an object whose service capacity is tested first, and it is possible to prevent a service capacity test from being executed to only a specific secondary-battery cell row.
